Bill Evans plays the SST Neck Mod. TN1

Since 2007 Bill Evans exclusively plays our Neck Mod. TN1

„The sst neck mod. TN1 opened up my sound the minute I tried using it.
I would recommend it to anyone interested in getting a great sound from their saxophone!

It is the only neck I use with my horn now.“

After a long break, I am pleased to be able to write another article for you, starting with the Bill Evans reference.

And my joy is all the greater because today we are talking about one of the best saxophonists of our time, with whom we have the honour of working together.

Although I can assume that almost all of you are familiar with Bill Evans, I would still like to dedicate a few words to his biography:

Through the recommendation of his teacher David Liebman, who played with Miles Davis before Bill Evans, he made his debut on the international music scene with Miles Davis in the 80s (at the age of 21) and recorded a total of 6 albums with Davis.

This led to tours and recordings with artists such as John McLaughlin, Herbie Hancock and Mick Jagger - to name but a few.

Today, with 26 solo albums produced to date, multiple Grammy nominations and countless tours under his belt, Bill Evan's stylistic diversity is impressive.

Bill Evans and the TN1

We have had the opportunity to work with Bill Evans for a good 20 years now and, as mentioned in the title, he has been playing exclusively our Neck Model TN1 on his MVI tenor saxophone since 2007.

He sent me this previously unpublished video a few years ago:

I personally really like one of Bill Evans' most important albums Soulgrass , which was nominated for a Grammy in 2005. It combines blue grass, jazz and funk elements.

Here you can find this and all his other albums.
You are also very welcome to support him:

I hope you enjoyed the post.

If so, we would be happy if you follow us on social media so you don’t miss any more news.

all the best
