SST Old French series

We have developed the Old French series to meet the highest demands for a saxophone sound that only the best, old, legendary French saxophones can deliver.
The Old French series delivers a strong sound center for clearly noticeable tone stability. This means that this Neck gives the player the best possible control. The player does not lose control even over forte, the sound remains stable and does not break up. This guarantees a warm and lively sound with great depth of tone and carrying power (spatial sound) in every range and at every volume.
Due to the strong resonance that Old French brings to the saxophone, the sound never breaks and the player can control the sound and the lines played very nicely and dynamically, for a strong and characterful expression.

Who did we build the Old French series for?
The Old French series was built for every player, whether professional or non-professional, with high demands in various musical genres, especially jazz, except classical music.
We have developed the New Standard series for saxophonists who play classical music alone.

Old French in combination with old (former) Selmer BA or SBA saxophones
Old French delivers at least the high standard of early, best BA or SBA Necks.

This makes Old French ideally suited as a:

• • Replacement if the original Neck is no longer available
  • the original bow is damaged or already unstable due to general damage or wear and
    tear caused by playing.

You can also replace a functioning, original Neck with the Old French to preserve the original.
The Neck is subjected to heavy loads during play. It is clear that these old bows will not last forever.
If the original Neck is replaced by an Old French, the original can be preserved to preserve its value.

Old French in combination with Selmer MVI saxophones
With the Old French, the musician can convert his MVI into a BA or SBA.
This is very interesting, because the cost of an Old French Neck is much cheaper than buying a BA or SBA.
In the past, many musicians had to buy both saxophone models, an MVI and a BA or SBA, if they wanted to use these two sound styles.
Nowadays you can just stick an Old French on it and you've covered all the requirements for a BA or SBA.

Old French in combination with all other saxophone brands 
For all current saxophone makes, including all makes and models from the past that are not old Selmer saxophones, the SST S-bows are essential.
With a relatively small investment (compared to buying a new instrument), players can convert their saxophone with an SST Neck so that they don't just get a “new” saxophone.
You can modify your saxophone in such a way that you get many times more SOUND VALUE. You can install the important standards in your saxophone that we have already written about here.

3. the price: In principle, it doesn't matter whether you buy an instrument costing several thousand euros or a much cheaper instrument. With an SST Neck, you can bring both the expensive and the much cheaper one to the same level.
