SST New Standard series

We have developed the New Standard series to meet the highest demands for a saxophone sound that satisfies the highest requirements of classical musicians.
The New Standard series delivers a strong sound center for clearly noticeable tone stability. This means that this Neck gives the player the best possible control. The player does not lose control even over forte, the tone remains stable and does not break
apart. This guarantees a warm and lively sound with plenty of depth and power (surround sound) in every tonal range and at every volume.
Due to the strong resonance that New Standard brings to the saxophone, the sound never breaks and the player can control the sound and the lines played very nicely and dynamically, for a strong and characterful expression.

Who did we build the New Standard series for?
The New Standard series was built for every player, whether professional or non-professional, with high standards in the classic range.

New Standard in combination with old Selmer MVI, BA or SBA saxophones
These old Selmer saxophones are not or only partially suitable for classical saxophonists due to their very jazzy, smoky and less clear and fine sound, no direct response etc..
With the New Standard series, we have retained the first-class characteristics of these old Selmer Necks and only changed the characteristics that are unsuitable for classical music.

The first-class properties we have received include:

  • Warm and lively tone

We have eliminated the characteristics of the old Selmer Necks that are less advantageous for classical music, such as:

• • smoky sound
  • No direct approach
  • Sound rather coarse and not fine

The New Standard creates a very good resonance, a very strong sound center for a warm and lively sound and an excellent surround sound (carrying capacity).
New Standard also creates a fine tone with the best response for the best staccato.

New Standard in combination with all other saxophone brands 
For all current saxophone makes, including all makes and models from the past that are not old Selmer saxophones, the SST Necks are essential.
With a relatively small investment (compared to buying a new instrument), players can convert their saxophone with an SST Neck so that they don't just get a “new” saxophone.
You can modify your saxophone in such a way that you get many times more SOUND VALUE. You can install the important standards in your saxophone that we have already written about here.
If you are planning to buy an instrument, please ask us in advance about the possibilities of upgrading your existing instrument. In most cases, you will not have to buy a new instrument.
If you are planning to buy an instrument for the first time, it is best to plan the additional purchase of an SST Neck!

1. make sure you buy an instrument that is technically stable
2. make sure that the new instrument is easy for you to use
3. the price: In principle, it doesn't matter whether you buy an instrument costing many thousands of euros or a much cheaper instrument. With an SST Neck, you can bring both the expensive and the much cheaper one to the same level.
