TINO SCHUCHT

I was born in 1968 and lived in the former GDR in the state of Brandenburg until I was 20.
After finishing school, I completed an apprenticeship as an agricultural machinery locksmith.
After the fall of the Berlin Wall, I and my family moved to the west, to the Stuttgart area. At this time I began to learn to play the saxophone with various saxophone teachers.
In 1995 I started a 3-year apprenticeship as a brass instrument maker in Pforzheim in the master workshop, Metallblasinstrumentenbau Stenzel.
The former workshop manager was the Japanese brass instrument maker and trumpet designer Tomomi Kato.

The focus of the training was repairs of brass instruments.
In 1998, after my apprenticeship, I started my own business, not in the field of brass instruments but in the field of saxophone.
In the metal wind instrument master workshop in Stenzel, woodwind instruments were repaired in addition to metal wind instruments, so I was able to gain my first technical experience with saxophones, which I expanded after my apprenticeship.

Thanksgiving
My thanks go to the Stenzel metal wind instrument manufacturer in Pforzheim for the varied and well-founded training.
Special thanks go to my long-time friend, the brass instrument maker and important trumpet designer Tomomi Kato, who played a major role in the development of SST products.
